Characteristics of extremity ischaemia: Damage to the blood vessels in the extremities (arteriosclerotic changes and for other causes) results in an insufficient supply of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and tissues (so-called extremity ischaemia). This leads to many trophic changes that may result in extremity amputation. The program with vasodilatory, healing and stimulation effects is intended for prevention in risky patients and as part of comprehensive treatment in all ischaemic diseases.
Purpose of magnetic therapy application in extremity ischaemia
In extremity ischaemia, low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy dilates minor capillaries and pre-capillaries, and significantly improves the blood flow and supply of oxygenated blood to the tissues. In this way, it provides better conditions for the normal functioning and healing of these tissues.
We use Biomag against to back pain, cervical spine and extremity ischemia. We are happy with the effects thanks to the relief it brings us.Rudolf Pekárek, Žandov
I had a pain in the lower limbs near the tibia, I think it was a vascular or venous problem. The device helps relieve the pain and I feel better.Jiří Novák, Dolní Bousov
I suffer from cramps of the entire legs, especially in the feet and calves. I apply the treatment every day. Convulsions ceased and a feeling of foot fatigue about a month later.Milan Vocílka, Nová Včelnice
Using magnetic therapy in extremity ischaemia
In extremity ischaemia, the most common cause of occlusion or narrowing of the arteries is atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), thrombus (blood clot), Buerger’s disease and arterial vasoconstriction due to damage to the autonomic nerves that regulate the vascular lumen. The main risk factors for lower extremity ischaemia are smoking, lack of exercise, increased age, mental stress, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, diabetes and others. The condition requires professional vascular examination and early initiation of treatment according to the stage and location of the lower extremity ischaemia – elimination of risk factors, changing exercise procedures, vasodilatory therapy, anticoagulant therapy, up to surgical intervention on the affected extremity.
Upper extremity ischaemia is much less common than lower extremity ischaemia. The proximal type of upper extremity ischaemia is most frequently caused by atherosclerosis. The distal type (Raynaud’s phenomenon, local vasoneurosis) is much more common. Other symptoms of poor perfusion are vascular spasms, which are caused by a disorder of the shoulder girdle, peripheral vessel diseases, and other conditions where blood circulation disorders of the upper extremities may indicate other serious conditions.

Application of magnetic therapy in extremity ischaemia
In extremity ischaemia, Biomag low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy complements comprehensive treatment due to its significant vasodilatory effects on the precapillary arterioles and capillaries, where it stimulates the microcirculation of oxygenated blood and nutrients in the treated tissue and creates better local metabolic conditions. In extremity ischaemia, we apply vasodilatory and stimulation frequency to the affected area 2-3 times a day using a flat applicator or a solenoid, and also try to expose the area of arteries for the location using another applicator. For example, for the upper extremities, we apply a special shoulder applicator to the area of the whole shoulder girdle.
