Characteristics of TMJ (jaw joint) pain:Temporomandibular joint disorders and subsequent jaw joint pain may be caused by injury, arthritis, stress or any change in the bite, e.g. after tooth extraction, joint overload due to unilateral chewing, use of improper tooth fillings, and so on.
If temporomandibular joint disorders and pain are caused by structural issues, the symptoms can be reduced by therapy. In functional disorders (such as a feeling of the joint “popping out”, or pain from muscle overuse), the cause of the problem can be managed by physiotherapy. In temporomandibular joint pain, the therapy consists of manual treatment of the soft tissues around the TM joint, head and cervical area of the spine, mobilisation of the TM joint, and special exercise.
Using magnetic therapy in temporomandibular joint pain
With its analgesic and spasmolytic effects, low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy helps release spasms and pain in the muscles used for mastication, while its anti-inflammatory effects can be used successfully both in the acute stage and during the final treatment phase.
We have been using the device for 10 years. The entire family is treated by the device. Usually, the pain is gone within 2-3 days. We use the device for water magnetization.Daniela Bábiková, Nitra
We don't store the device as it is always ready in a standby position on the sofa, and during watching tv, we take turns when treating our health issues. We know that the device relieves pain and helps with prolonged use.František Holásek, Traplice
Application of magnetic therapy in temporomandibular joint pain
Therapy is applied locally on the painful area with a small applicator, preferably using analgesic frequencies from 2-6 Hz and muscle relaxation frequencies from 8-14 Hz. Repeated applications are used until the pain goes away, and subsequently, regeneration programs are recommended.
